The devil is in the details but I love consumption taxes. In my opinion they are far superior to income taxes
Maybe try looking up the word ‘regressive’ in the context of taxes. I doubt that will happen so here, maybe this helps:
What Is a Regressive Tax?
The term regressive tax refers to a tax that is applied uniformly regardless of income. Regressive taxes take a larger percentage of income from low-income earners than from middle- and high-income earners
So if you really want to fuck over poor people and benefit the wealthy, and obviously Republicans do, great way to do it.
How to say you didn’t read the article without saying it. That’s covered in the article.
Yes, and you apparently learned how to say you didn’t understand the article without saying it. It’s wildly unfair to people with less money and you’re still presenting it as a good thing.
The article explains how they solve that issue.
Read the article.
The people who argue in favour of taxes, or argue for higher taxes, they never argue “I should pay more taxes”, they are only argue for shared misery of heavy taxation with jail time for anyone who is against being a slave to politicians voting themself pay raises and more benefits.
Only politicians can engage in insider trading, for everybody else it’s a federal crime. But people still demand that politicians take more of their income.
That’s why I always ask how much more that person is willing to pay. The typical answer is tax the rich. I’m already paying 50% of my income in taxes.
I’m already paying 50% of my income in taxes
doubt
I think I’m currently at ~30%, last I checked.
Yes, tax the rich.
Taxes should be a shared burden like Europe.
The highest tax bracket is 36%. Are you saying another 14% of your income is gobbled up through state tax, sales tax, property tax, etc.? I guess that’s entirely possible. If you throw health insurance premiums into the mix then it’s well above 50%. I just did my taxes a few weeks ago and my total health insurance premiums for the year, not counting co-pays, deductibles, prescriptions, etc. Was $29.6k. That’s fucking insane. We need to fix that shit. People are opposed to a single payer healthcare system saying it’ll raise their taxes, but we’re already paying out the wazzoo for it. It would probably be cheaper.
You also pay state tax, social security, medicare, etc.
I didn’t include sales tax, we do not have it or property tax.
THat is insane, mine is 100 a month with no dependents. 1,200 a year
It is insane! That doesn’t even seem right. Idk htf I ended up paying that much. But I pulled that number right off my W2, box 12, code DD. Hmm… I actually need to look into this more because that doesn’t sound right at all.
Some employers charge more and some less. I work in technology and we tend to get really good insurance plans.
Add in the Korean lottery ticket receipt system and this would fix a lot of revenue problems.
