You can get a bit dark, like I enjoyed Stargate Universe, that was a nice mix of dark story telling that still had fun.
I want to have fun and escape the world in SciFi shows, not be reminded of it.

I very much understand this… but… we have to realise that starting up from the point of when Universe started or a bit later than it would mean that everything that was so fun to discover in the 10 seasons of SG-1 and 5 seasons of Atlantis, would be already “old knowledge” in the canon.
A lot of the fun in SG was imo the joy of discovery. New worlds, new tech, new aliens, new science. How does the gate really work, who built it, etc.
I think we have to accept that not-rebooting the franchise would sort of direct the attention away from all the gate things and would have to discover something new. Like one-upping the stakes. And if they do that, then there’d also need to be some sort of resolution for Universe, too.
I hope thats what they do, but from an objective writing point, I think the reboot is more likely.
Otherwise it’d be constant exposition dumping, since the show probably won’t be aimed at the people who know every bit of Stargate as well as their own pants. Ofc this isn’t too hard to achieve in universe, just have someone come in as a new guy to the program, like in Atlantis with Sheppard and whatnot.
I’m just saying, I want to watch the new show in any case, so I’m mentally preparing for it to be a reboot. I’m hoping it will be some sort of soft-ish reboot so it might get to keep at least some of the original things and people. And that they’d incorporate that into the sometimes slightly meta writing, like the famous quip “O’Neill. Two L’s!”
Anyway my point is that I very much hope that your options aren’t completely mutually exclusive.

It’s not an accented A. It’s a Λ with a circle over it. It’s been the logo of this franchise for twenty-five years.
And it is in fact the alien symbol for Earth.
The way the logo is stylized makes the “earth symbol” look like an A which is clearly the point since the franchise is called stargate.
When they then keep the circle above the “Λ” it looks like an “Å”. Which just looks stupid. I’m not saying that they should change the logo or anything, just that it looks stupid.

What it looks like, in the sense of close approximation to anything the target audience is familiar with, is that letter. How was I supposed to know that a symbol that was in between two letters was in fact not a letter and was instead a fictional symbol? I thought the name of the franchise was Stargate so I thought that the symbol between G and T was supposed to be a stylized A. I didn’t know that the name of the franchise was STARG🌏TE.
IMO that’s not my fault. How would anyone new to the franchise know that the franchise is called STARG🌏TE and not STARGATE? Lots of people would assume the symbol is stylized because that is incredibly common for logos and posters.
