Terminology is telling here. “Slitting a throat” is an act of murder and stealth, used to kill an unsuspecting victim with premeditation. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a presidential candidate use the term, although there’s been plenty of violent rhetoric over the years.

There a reason for that - it’s a coward’s way to kill. The fact that Ronnie drops it like it’s a normal fantasy of violence (like punching an asshole, or shooting an intruder) speaks to a deep, underlying pathology. This is a man who lionizes deceit and cruelty. I wouldn’t want him looking after my goldfish, much less my children or my country.

I was trying to figure out why that phrase felt very extra creepy and off putting. I think you nailed it.

While the thought of someone who eats pudding with their fingers up to the task of slitting throats by his lonesome is humorous at best, it’s the trogs in the back row who get their marching orders from their Rice Krispies gives me pause.

Why do all these pandering fascists assume the deep state is left-leaning? Dark money comes from conservatives who really only care about tax code.

The pandering fascists know that the deep state is not left leaning. They lie because gullible fascists who are pandered to will believe nearly anything negative about their enemies.

Fascists across the world attack institutions, because institutions enforce norms, and norms keep them from consolidating power. It’s one thing all fascist factions have in common.

Because, by definition, the Deep State is opposed to them. Republicans wouldn’t call dark money that because they know where it comes from, and it helps them.

I don’t understand how there’s no system in place to stop a governor from turning into a mini Hitler.

How is this guy allowed to run his state like this, and say these insane things? How is he allowed to run for president??? The US system is a fucking embarrassment.

Last time I looked in to a quote that sounded really extreme to me and expressed my opinion like I got called a Nazi.

I’m off to find the whole quote now. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.

Edit: OK, nope yup. This one is as crazy as it sounds. Fucking yowza! Although, I’m still curious if there’s a video. I feel like the people in my life I’m trying to pull away from this madness won’t accept a text quote.

There is no longer any shades of grey here. Rhonda and crew have stated quite clearly what they will do (if) they acquire power. They will rule, and you will die. Floriduh is a Petri dish to what will befall the nation if this despot gets elected

After making a comment like you did (rather proving the previous commenter’s point), I would say yes. But are you happy? What kind of person do you want to be - one who reacts because you care too much about a supposed flaw, or one who defies the stereotype and doesn’t even recognize a “short man syndrome” comment because it’s so far from your reality? You choose.

Well, now I’m afraid for my life. Do stand your ground laws cover me?

/s - I know they don’t, both for technical legal purposes and also because even if they did, it would be unevenly enforced.
