If any of my relatives ever read this, you have my full permission to do whatever stupid shit with my ashes you want, the stupider the better. Or if you want to dunk on or generally make a joke out of my passing, that’s encouraged too. It would be a nice send-off.
I would much rather people have a laugh, and some relief than the usual horrible process of grieving…
What’s ironic is it’s usually the type of people with your type of attitude that I miss and grieve for the most.
Has anyone tried baking with it? I’d make you into pie and let it in too long, so you get cremated twice.
As a matter of fact, yes. A few cultures have or do practice Endocannibalism as a death ritual.

When my FIL what was a veterinarian was cremated, his remains were in a nice wooden box on his old antique desk. My SIL always referred to it as, “Doc in a box.”

I have a close friend who’s dad very suddenly passed away within the past 2 months and was cremated. I shared this with them on chat. They laughed. I’m still alive…for now.
If this was true, I bet his dad would’ve laughed.

At the funeral home for my FiL talking about urns. We ask about the little ones they have. While doing their little pitch, the funeral director says that “they hold a spoonful of the- the-“ and one of my FiL’s children finishes “spoon full of dad”.
And now I can’t think about cremation without thinking about “spoon full of dad”.

What is this trend of people taking selfies striking the peace sign behind dead relatives remains? Like dude its your dead relative show a little decency not everything has to be social media clout
Before reading your comment I’d seen the image, laughed, and showed it to my adult son who also snickered. I then told him if he and his brothers don’t do something similar when I’m gone, I’ll be terribly disappointed.
Everyone has different comfort levels with death. I work in hospice so I see death regularly, and am about as comfortable as I can be with the idea. I hope my son’s can be as comfortable too. We’re very loving, but share similar sense of humor.
I mean, it’s really just a container filled with bone dust with a decent chance of it being mixed with other people’s bone dust.
The only significance it has is what you give it.
Symbolically it represents the ‘spirit’ of the person who donated the bone dust, there’s a reason most people don’t use their grandmothers urn as a spitoon even though you totally could. It seems like these kinds of people who take these post could give a little more respect and significance to the last remains of a loved one by not making a cringe selfie with them.
Yes, that right there is the importance that You put on a container of bone dust of dubious origin. No one else is required to share your opinion.
You have no idea what their relationship was like, and you have no right to judge how another person handles the death of someone close to them.
Basic human decency is not something that is up for interpretation.
Having certain beliefs with regards to the sanctity of remains should not be conflated with basic human decency.
Better tell Geneva, misusing human remains is still a war crime and outside of war it’s still illegal in most of the world.
