I routinely click the comment icon expecting it to take me to the posts’s comment section rather than opening the new comment editor. (muscle memory from RIF functionality probably)
An ultra compact mode where the post title is a link to the content and the comment button brings you into the comments section would change up the behavior, but is one way to accomplish that.
Yeah I’ve been in the same boat. Once you get used to hitting the title for the comments it’s kinda okay.
But I agree that a mode without thumbnails would be nice. I pretty much never want to reply directly to a post from the feed, so I wouldn’t miss that option
Thumbnails are currently the only way to directly visit the link and not the text+comments. How would you solve that?

Same here. I generally at least want to pop in and check the conversation before commenting anything.
