    Tipping should be for good service, not expected for doing your job just ok. But US servers will never let this happen, they make too much money from the current tipping culture.

    Greedy bosses and greedy servers go hand in hand against a fair solution for everyone.

      For the first time in quite a while I wanted to grab some Waffle House. They no longer take orders over the phone. They literally have a recorded message telling you to use their website or their app. Doing either of those required me to at least give up my email and phone. And on to of that they charge a 10% service fee that they say goes to the person who makes my order.

      Yea, I’m not cool with any of that.

      And that’s on top of $5 waffles. $5, for a fucking thin plain ass waffle. The All-Star was $12. Ridiculous. Though, the waffle is by far the largest chunk of that cost.

      The server part of the equation is why I’ve stopped feeling the pressure to leave larger and larger tips for an increasing number of transactions. If you want more pay, address it with your “employer.” You can be mad at me all you’d like, it won’t place my money in your pocket.
