I wanted to get a pulse check on how new members are finding the general experience/website. Is it more confusing than Reddit or are you finding the instance system a better way of doing things as it can give you more freedom of where you choose to create an account?

I’m a new user myself but have found the experience to remind me of Reddit back in the day, lol. It’s definitely giving me old-school yet modern vibes and it’s great to see something that isn’t Reddit growing in popularity!

Former Reddit user here. It’s a bit confusing but I’m holding up. I’m glad I found Kbin as it seems pretty user friendly compared to the various Lemmy instances. I’m excited for the future of both networks, and look forward to getting my head around it all a little better.

definitely still confused about how to reply to a top level post or see other instances. like what’s the equivalent of a subreddit? another instance?

Same here. The linking with Mastodon bit of Kbin is pretty cool, but slightly jarring due to the post bar just being stuck at the top. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, just gotta go around subscribing to communities now I guess.
