This guy showed up to a LGBT youth center and filmed supporters outside it and the parking lot for the building. He has a baphomet tattoo which leads us to suspect he’s a black metal nazi. Clearly a member of Local 18.

No. There is such a thing as “national socialist black metal”, but trying to correlate a baphomet tattoo with NSBM is a stretch. He very well could be a Nazi, but I wouldn’t associate that with satanism solely from some images. There are assholes in every religion, we don’t need another satanic panic out of ignorance and fear.

Satanists are often diametrically opposed to Nazis, since they believe in freedom, and Nazis don’t.

These Satanists sound like stand up people! I just wish the “satan” part didn’t immediately bring them a stigma.

Then again, I know nothing else about them except your post, so I may be extremely out of the loop for context.

The Satanic Temple is by far the most famous from the US. They fairly regularly prevent attacks on separation of church and state by pulling stunts such as:

            • Demanding a statue of baphomet be placed in any government building that has the ten commandments

            • Doing satanic prayer before local government functions that do Christian prayer

            • Doing after-school Satan clubs as an alternative to Christian Sunday school

            • Using religious exemptions to get people abortions, as their tenets claim an individual’s body is purely their own to do what they will with

And much more. They’re a spicy bunch.

They like the stigma. They weaponize the stigma to keep separation, as they will and do use any opening Christians give them by weakening that separation to scare them away.

We are, for the most part.

I got my card and diploma thing back when one of my Black Isrealite coworkers wouldn’t stop loudly telling the Christian lady in the office across from me that he’s the REAL Jew and his god would kill her when time came, taped it proudly to my door and just stared at him.

HR had a “better not discuss religion” email out 2 days later but my paper stayed up.

Also, the 7 tenets (satanists version of the 10 commandments, they’re on the cards):

I One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

II The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own.

V Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs.

VI People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

VII Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
