So I found a book I’m looking to read on the Internet Archive after failing to find a PDF on libgen or anywhere else on a quick search, but while I could read it on the site, I find the interface annoying and I’d rather just use my PDF reader, but the book can only be borrowed for an hour at a time which means no use of the built-in download function. Is there a way to easily get a PDF of it by some other means?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, I did try to find an answer but I ended up getting a lot of Reddit results on what ended up being privated subs so I figured I’d ask here.
You can download an acsm file for the book after borrowing it by loading https://archive.org/services/loans/loan/?action=media_url&format=pdf&redirect=1&identifier=BOOK_ID
I recommend knock or DeDRM Tools for downloading and decrypting from the acsm file.
I have made a script for automating some of the process.
There’s also an online solution, I’ve tested it and it works.
If it can’t be borrowed for 14 days then there is no luck scraping it from IA. May I ask what is the name of the book?
