Do you realize that flag isn’t the flag of The Confederacy? It’s a battle flag they flew, but it isn’t the flag they flew in Richmond, VA.

That flag gained prominence because Woodrow “I’m going to straight up lie about history” Wilson decided to write Southern Revisionism. He’s also the one that erected the statues starting in 1912.

That flag and those statues were explicitly supposed to be forgotten, and never erected according to the actual people that attempted secession.

That flag is a symbol of racism and history denial. There is no other way to look at it, if you know what actually happened.

Oh yeah, Wilson also helped commission Birth of a Nation. Go watch that racist movie if you want to see the “family values and heritage” that Wilson supported.

Was it even a battle flag? I thought the battle flag it was based on was square and the “modern” one was created after the confederacy?

There were several. It was a flag they flew in many, but not all of the battles towards the end of the traitor’s rebellion
