This was also why the Republicans were so insistent on crucifying Hunter, because he was a prominent link between Biden and Ukraine - an operation that the Republicans are left out of.
Returning the favor, the Democrats charged Trump to force the Republicans to back off from the Biden-Ukraine case, which had led to a stalemate for both sides. But now, to defend Biden’s deteriorating poll numbers and potentially losing against Trump, the Democrats pressed forward with Trump’s conviction.
The Republicans are now just responding in kind, but both sides understand that Joe Biden is willing to sacrifice Hunter to save his own electoral campaign.
