I remember having to get up early once and making myself a big mug of coffee… I sat on the sofa, put the TV on, drank some of my coffee… then fell asleep with it cradled in my lap.

It really doesn’t help as much as a shower does.

getting the right amount of sleep is most helpful. caffeine can take the edge off, but it can’t make you not-tired.

I can sleep when I’m dead, which will be much sooner than it should be because I’m an exhausted wreck of a person running on fumes and despair.

I regularly take naps after a cup (or three) of coffee, but I always blame that on adhd lol

When you get prescribed the correct anti anxiety meds, it’s like a cheat code that stops anxiety from having an impact, and still allows you to feel an act normally. I took escitalopram(lexapro), and it changed everything. Before: just wanted to be left alone anxiety was so bad Now: I am the foot steps dumb people fear when they dare tread upon ground they don’t belong on. I am darkwing duck.

I stopped drinking caffeine earlier this year.

My anxiety melted away. Suddenly I wasn’t avoiding life any more. I just got my shit done, or at least worked consistently on it without hesitation.

Then I got in a car accident (very minor; nobody hurt) for the first time in 25 years of driving.

So I started drinking caffeine again. I realized that maybe me at my best is a little anxious. That relaxed and happy isn’t my best self.
