Man…I grew up with my grandparents having a waffle iron. Sometimes when I’d stay with them we would have breakfast for dinner and my grandma would mix up batter from scratch. Being a little kid, the most amusing thing was that for some reason they kept the syrup in one of those mustard barrels.
I’ve never done tendies from scratch, but can make a good batch of nuggies with a bit of panko.
