Hi

Most of the time I go with subbed but I recently thought of switching to dubbed. I’m watching Dragon Ball Z in English and it’s pretty good. Please suggest some others which are great in dubbed.

Cheers

Ghost in the Shell SAC has a really good dub.
Anything Adult Swim is usually good, I remember liking Space Dandy
Hellsing Ultimate is fantastic in both languages. The dub goes in on the accents which works really well for the cartoonishly evil Nazis, it’s a bit like Indiana Jones. The Japanese VA is insanely good though so you can really go either way

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Ghost in the Shell - Standalone Complex. My Hero Academia has a good dub, though I’m mixed on the series itself

I like them about equally, but JoJo does a great job in both sub and dub. In part six, the only thing winning me over on the subbed side in White Snake’s VA work. Otherwise Netflix knocked it out of the park on every other voice.

I think a lot of the answers are “stuff I saw on Toonami or Adult Swim and Ghibli movies” lol

That said, I like the English dubs of The Big O, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex quite a bit.

I’m fond of the G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam (TV) English dubs, but I prefer the original Japanese voices.

FMA:B and Frieren both are great in dub. Kaguya-sama has an absolutely fantastic dub narrator. Most romcom dubs really detract from the show but that is an exception.

The Kaguya-sama dub is good, but having watched the entire series in both Japanese and English (in that order) the narrator is actually the one thing I could never get used to—I prefer the mostly played-straight Japanese narration to the jokey American narration, since I think it fits more with the overall tone of the series where the silliness of the “war” is heightened by the melodramatic acting, direction, and music. That being said, the friends I watched the dub with similarly pointed to the narrator as one of their favorite things about the show, so I seem to be in the minority here, and obviously my opinion is colored by having watched the sub first.

Yeah, I agree with everything you said and given the votes you might not be in the minority with that opinion. I see the jokey melodrama as the heart of that show so the narrator adds to it for me.

Ghost stories. The Japanese version flopped. So they allowed the dub a lot of freedom. It was used :)

The Promised Neverland had some good dubbing. As someone who normally dislikes dubs, I think they captured the personalities well, even if the main characters are children. (Just prepare for the end of Season 2 to be disappointing).
