A chappell roan is any young female pop artist who doesn’t know what fascism is, but is inclined to vote for it when she sees it.

She’s a pop singer who seemingly upset a lot of internet people (but not many real people) for saying “yeah, I’m voting for Kamala, but I won’t endorse her because the democratic party hasn’t done enough for the LGBTQ or minority groups and I’m not keen on the Israel support thing”

Endorsing a candidate or a party places an additional seal of approval on the actions and beliefs of that candidate/party. There’s a difference between saying “between ham or fish, I pick fish” and “I believe fish is the right choice for everyone, fish has qualities that I myself would like to emulate and believe in”.

No, she is a young female pop artist who is terminally online and has a near non existent PR team.

She sits there and makes tiktoks based off of people’s response to her political takes.

She essentially said that of course she’s going to vote for Kamala, the policies on the right are awful and some of the policies on the left are too (yes she worded it like that lmao). She said she couldn’t endorse Kamala because she doesn’t agree with everything democrats are doing.

It’s just a bunch of immature both-sides takes, the democrats have to be Christ level of perfection else they’re just as bad as the fascist Rs.

To no surprise people tore her statements apart and she would get more and more angry posting dumber responses.

She needs to quit social media and hire someone asap

Even going back to the first few seasons, there were an awful lot of misses, and very few hits.

We used to laugh about the killer bees, John Belushi’s Samurai, the coneheads, Dan Aykroyd saying, “Jane you ignorant slut!” on every Weekend Update, but when I look at them now, I’m not sure if the humor was there or just going along with the peer pressure.

On the other hand, I look at the old SCTV shows, and most of the sketches hold up very well.

Yup, I’ve been rewatching them. I think back and it was so funny, but the ones we remember were maybe one skit every 5 shows? Worse? Maybe one or two a year? There’s a reason we all say “it used to be better” - because nostalgia blocks out the bad ones

I thought at some point I remember hearing that they sometimes write jokes for each other to make the other look bad which makes it funnier on a meta level, but that’s only if it’s true.

It honestly wasn’t bad, and I certainly don’t see it as condemning Chappell. Honestly it’s saying it’s ridiculous to expect her to endorse a candidate or to be in the public eye 24/7. It’s very straightforward.

A pop star that has had an enormous rise to popularity this last year. By all accounts, she seems to be a very good person who’s main controversies have been burn out and stress from becoming a household name overnight.

You’d probably recognise a fair few if her songs from just hearing them in public. A lot of songs from her album were very well received.

          No she didn’t

She’s said she’s voting for Kamala but that this is not the same as an endorsement by Chappell Roan ®™©

But people heard the words “problems on both sides” and deliberately took it completely out of context and have been bullying her about it for weeks

Right? She literally just said what a lot of people on Lemmy think, which is that the Democrats suck because they’re still supporting Israel and they also suck because they aren’t progressive enough. Regardless, she’s going to vote for Kamala because that’s the choice we have right now. I applaud her statement.

Probably could have phrased that better, relationship health wise.

For example, instead of saying something they like is stupid and unfunny, say “Your memes suck, be better or I’m leaving you.”

You have to clearly establish the consequences and a path to fixing their problems.

Cool. If your boss saw you looking at this and gave you a weird look, that’s enough for NSFW. It doesn’t mean “porn” it means “not safe for work” and also coveres gore, iconography (swastikas, hammer and sickle etc) and some other things.

Why, most bosses understand their employees aren’t working 100% of the time because that’s impossible to maintain. People take breaks to destress, to reset their mind etc. Expecting them not to is 100% the wrong thing.

Depending on where in the world you live, a very slight outline of a nipple is not considered erotic or “pornographic”. Wild that to some it’s in the same category as swastikas and hammer and sickles.
