It has a good frequency of news and discussion. I often ignored/r/nintendo but something about this community on Lemmy hits different!

Thank you for making this community a great one!

It’s because of all the people like you.

I have had many fun conversations with people here, and even when there are people who have unpopular opinion, there are no personal attacks or spreading hate. It feels like the kind of place where you can make friends that last you a long time.

There are more than 7000 people here, with hundreds visiting the community every week, and I haven’t had to moderate anything yet (except for one message, from an account which only posted 4 messages, all spam in different communities).

So, thanks to all of you!

(Maybe I should make a post about it…)

It’s definitely better! Feels more like the forums back in the day where small groups of people with niche interests would discuss online about the stuff they like.

Yea, feels good to actually be discussing with what feels like actual humans rather than internet drones.

I’m sure as we start to grow it’ll become more like the internet I’m more familiar with, but for I’mma enjoy what we’ve got!

Just wanna say, this is one of the upsides of the community model here. If a space gets so large that it just becomes a white noise machine, we can just find smaller communities without worrying too hard about what they’re called.

Nintendo@somewhere.else is waiting for us if Nintendo@right.here no longer suits our personal preference. None of that “TrueNintendo” bs from Reddit.
