Why are people doing this at voting locations in the USA?

I went to vote today in Georgia USA. People showed up wearing bed sheets over them. What is this supposed to communicate exactly??
This post in !nostupidquestions@lemmy.world and another in !mildlyinfuriating@lemmy.world were posted earlier today, but later deleted for reasons unknown. It’s hard to tell if it’s depicting real voter intimidation, something ill-advised but not malicious, or is a hoax completely.
I crossposted the first one I found because I noticed it being deleted (an upvote action failed) and decided to preserve it, and then I screenshotted the other and included it in a comment in the crossposted thread.
Frankly, as a metro Atlantan myself, I find it plausible that this could be a real thing that happened in Cobb County, but it’s weird that nobody has so far been able to independently corroborate it.
Either way, something – whether interference IRL or disinformation here – is going on that attention needs to be paid to.
It’s weird that every single comment has been down voted in both posts
