      Quite literally, yes

Also ObL said this regarding his fighters targeting and killing American troops in the 90s

The American government is leading the country towards hell. … We say to the Americans as people and to American mothers, if they cherish their lives and if they cherish their sons, they must elect an American patriotic government that caters to their interests not the interests of the Jews. If the present injustice continues with the wave of national consciousness, it will inevitably move the battle to American soil, just as Ramzi Yousef and others have done. This is my message to the American people. I urge them to find a serious administration that acts in their interest and does not attack people and violate their honor and pilfer their wealth.

From here (interesting to read btw)

I don’t know if he said or intended Zionists there rather than Jews and not going to dig into that discussion because it’s ultimately not relevant to his overall point. Americans blame people in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon… etc. for their circumstances and use the existence of shitty governments (without context of who put the governments in power… usually British, French or Americans…) to justify killing the population as a whole because they are “complicit.” ObL’s statements about all Americans being targets for murder are exactly equivalent to how Israel and the US operate- the main difference being ObL and his networks were not backed by the wealth and military assets of the richest and dominant country on the planet. Their tactics are the same, but clearly one is more “evil” if you provide the context of who can actually pull off their terror plots. If you target civilians and people resisting imperialism and everything else, of course guys like ObL come along and are able to use the circumstances to do the same thing back to the oppressors.

Anecdotal but the term “Yahood” (Jews in Arabic) has been used interchangeably with Zionists / ‘israelis’.

It’s the same as the indigenous people calling their invaders “white”. If you come in and create an ethnostate under Judaism, people under their oppression will correlate Judaism with the ethnostate.

My parents went through this, they’re better about it now but my Mom’s explanation was along the lines of: “When I lived there, I never met an anti-zionist Jew”

Yeah, I fully understand and yet feel no inclination to go to bat for Osama. I’ve read his views in this interview and a bunch of places and I’m fairly comfortable saying he was more than likely an antisemite if the definition of such is “hatred of Jews simply for being Jewish.” Now, of course I’ve also heard what you typed there from Arabs and Jews alike. It makes it extremely hard to call someone (from the region surrounding Israel) antisemitic for “hating The Jews” when an entire population literally call themselves “The Jews” while bombing civilians. The state apparatus has turned the word Jew into a religious term, ethnic term and nationalistic term. The only reason I do believe ObL is antisemitic is because of his other views regarding Islam and Judaism and such. I wish more of this type of discussion could be had within reasonable bounds without people flipping their shit, but I understand why it doesn’t happen…
