Someone reported an article in my community for the reason of “test” which is a bit frustrating that they didn’t do so on an actual test thread or, at the very least, give me a warning, but the only option I had was to click the red check mark which “resolved” it… is this only to clear the report or is me “resolving” it taking action against the post

Thanks for the offer but I think my main concerns are addressed. I’m just curious if there is something in the backend (that neither you or I can see) that keeps a “reputation”… For example, if a user gets a ton of reports does the instance admin (or even other admins) see that tally that might come into judgement in a future case. It’s really just curiosity at this point. Maybe @sunaurus@lemm.ee has some input.

Hey, there is nothing to worry about, there is no such reputation system in the backend currently. I’m sure if one was ever added, then the system would also account for fake reports - otherwise, it would be a pretty useless system.

Good to know. At the current scale a “reputation” would be overkill but as things scale up I can see it being helpful. That was where my clicking the check mark raised questions (was I saying that I took action where I should have ignored it in some other fashion).

Thanks for the input… Just trying to learn all I can on this journey and I sometimes read too deeply into something 😂
