Assassin’s Creed has to be one if not the worst case of wasted potential for a game series as a whole. A lot of them could’ve been genuinely amazing games if not for the sausage factory approach Ubisoft likes so much.

I was just talking about assassin’s creed yesterday actually and how I’d never play another one after black flag because of the direction they took the games and lack of care they put into them. So seems about right that theyd have so many more “planned” Edit: I have now remembered i played unity all the way through a couple hours of syndicate. Didnt mean to mis speak. Didnt rnjoy either though and will say now i will never REPLAY a game after blackflag

You’ve missed out not playing syndicate and unity. Both are great.

Unity is utterly stunning, great parkour, fun combat, and Paris looks incredible

I’d rather not be so dismissive of all of them without trying first. Origins and its successors are pretty fine actually, their only big cons are that they’re a bit oversized and have useless RPG bloat added (like level-restricted gear and missions and XP leveling, which is not something you can’t fix with mods).

ELEVEN? I guess it’s good to have a vision of where you want to go with the franchise, but I think this is a bit much…

Edit: I hope they aren’t all the same type of game. I’d like to see many different game types and camera angles be apart of this plan. Like, a 2d side scroller, an isometric beat 'em up, a rougelike, a tower defense game all within the Assassin’s Creed universe. It would be an interesting way to take the franchise at the very least.

My brother in Christ I don’t think Ubisoft knows how to make another type of game.

Lmao! To be fair, they’re trying something different with Prince of Persia and they got dumpstered for it, so I don’t think they’re entirely to blame for the narrow scope the franchise has come to be known for.

The last one I properly played was Revelations and I couldn’t even finish it. You can only do the same thing so many times before it gets stale and loses all its charm. I tried black flag but was so sick of the AC formula that I ended up refunding it after an hour.

Now they all seem like the definition of mid. I’ve seen videos of Valhalla and it looks like a Witcher 3 clone with none of the interesting characters or good writing.

This series needs a long break before I’d ever consider buying one again. I guess it keeps selling well every year though so…

Bruh, your timing’s unfortunate. I agree that the AC formula got stale REALLY fast and its just so samey and contrived now, before getting into how they started getting all mythological BUT-

I implore you to give Black Flag another shot. Its by far and away the LEAST assassins creed assassins creed game, and probably the best one in the franchise.
