Exactly. He wants immunity from prosecution because that’s what the FBI and/or DOJ decided the sitting president has for stone stupid reason. He knows he’s fucked so he’s trying to use the office to shield himself or probably pardon himself from the federal counts.
And probably intends to pardon himself (which will set off another round of chaos as it is debated and adjudicated whether or not that is legal)
