Meta had announced the shut down of Echo VR for August 1st earlier this year. Echo is one of the most popular VR multiplayer games with an active e-sports community.
Another Axiome, the studio behind Gorilla Tag, has recently shared a roadmap for their upcoming game codenamed “A2”. The team includes people that worked on the original Echo VR and can be considered the spiritual successor.
The team shared a roadmap, with closed betas starting September and an app lab release early next year. There isn’t any game play available yet, but there’s some more detailed information about the game and a A2 discord Server.

The team is excited to create an immersive, diegetic world that focuses on an armada of personal and community run stations featuring a next generation zero-gravity VR sports game. The game will feature a full court multiplayer sports mode with customizable game modes for casual and competitive players alike with the support of additional tools like spectator and replay functionality. But we can’t do it alone- AA is seeking the help of the community to bring this vision to life.
