From the article:

Red Bull’s Dr Helmut Marko added: "Unfortunately, it’s a complicated break. It’s not a straight break.

“We’ll get a confirmation from the doctor soon, but things are looking bad for the next two races.”

The article acknowledged Horner’s statement which was based upon an initial assessment. Once the Ortho got to work it was found to be more complicated.

Double stack of unfortunate news for DannyRic. Hopefully the doctor (who also worked on Stroll when he hurt his hand) can work some magic.

Ngl, Ricciardo is one of the main reasons I got into f1 and still watch. I was falling off, just watching the highlights on the f1 app until he came back.

This is a bummer. I hope the doc can get him sorted quickly.

While I understand that his presence during media events and the such are great for watching, during the race there is nothing different about his driving methods which would make him (or any driver for that matter) the main reason to tune into a race.

If I could ask, could you tell me why you stopped watching the races when ricciardo wasn’t racing¿?

Peter Bayer also said it looked like a clean break.
