Really like the use of the natural wood texture as the waves and clouds in this one!
This is gorgeous. OP, have you seen the prints from the illustrated Moby Dick?
I’ve just had a quick search, as I didn’t know that there was an illustrated version, Rockwell Kent did some beautiful prints. I’m going to check out his work including his paintings, he did some really nice landscapes, especially the Greenland ones. Cheers
No worries. The illustrations of that made it a much more tolerable required reading in highschool (but still awfully long and unfinished by me). There were way more than you’d think especially for an older novel.
So that’s a bit different, a gradient of dark to light in the middle. Maybe it’s a lighter shade of paint/ink applied towards the centre?
It really gives it a luminous quality doesn’t it? Like the sun just breaking through a gloomy sky, I love the water too. She’s another print maker whose work I want to explore
