this is untrue. no one has been violently slain during a session of congress, Charles Sumner got his ass beat on the floor but was not killed. in 1954 Puerto Rican nationalists shot a few, but didn’t manage any kills, and i think doesn’t really count since they weren’t members of congress or technically in the room yet
