Then when you hit a poor shot pick up your ball and hit your next shot near the spot of the other player’s ball. This will allow you to take your time when hitting a shot and not trying to “kill it”.

I like the idea of picking up my shot when first starting.
We go every Friday for work and I make the a new guy who just started golf do this to keep pace. He finally started to get lessons so that’s awesome
