Many atheists believe many different things outside of that core question. Most follow logic and scientific evidence to come to their conclusions but that is not necessarily a requirement.

You seem to be under the impression that people have to believe in something. It’s just not true. Unfortunately, religions hammer this into people from an early age, so it’s difficult to break out of the mindset.
