BL and TTWL all play very similar. I haven’t reached end game yet in TTWL, but so far the story is fun and amusing. The great writing is there, the core mechanics of all the other games are still there with more of a fantasy vibe thrown in (but it’s still a shooter, with explosions).

A few specifics differences is how the class system works. It seemed a bit more limited at first, but I think it works super well. You pick a class and you only get 1 skill tree, but at a certain part of the game you multi class and you pick any of the other classes to combine with. So you end up with only 2 skill trees, when normally you’d get 3 in the other games, but honestly most of the builds I’d run in the other games only ended up using 2 of the 3 skill trees anyway so it works out pretty well.

Since it’s a tabletop RPG setting, you also have a lot more flexibility in creating your character. The downside is that you are always refered to as “Hero” or “The Player” instead of a name.

Really enjoying it so far. I hope the end game holds up just as well because I really like farming for awesome items and taking on all the challenges, raid bosses, etc.
