I’m starting to see why America hasn’t won a war in like 100 years.
It’s pretty embarrassing when you starve your people just to have the world’s most expensive army… only to constantly lose. Lmao.

The royal academy of the Spanish language has always been run by the most reactionary, petty and self-important aristocratic geezers, as the name suggests, and considering Spain’s history, they’re VERY reactionary, petty and self-important.
Not even they do this kinda bs. This is clown shoes.
Also, if it’s the Ukrainian spelling shouldn’t it be in cyrillic?
They’re preparing for the romanization of Ukrainian language so they can get rid of all ruzzian influenza
I find romanization of other languages that already have their own writing system to be more difficult to read than just learning that alphabet/syllabary.
Some Cyrillic characters just carry over super awkwardly, like the Russian/Ukrainian Щ (shch), or the Russian ы which has no easy way to render in Latin script to reflect the pronunciation (sorta like an e).
Slavic languages that do use Latin script (like Polish) already have modifications to it to support it phonetically, so is less of an issue there.
Not when its geared to a Western English-speaking audience.
I have to imagine that academy gets its knickers in a bunch frequently with regards to regional variants of Spanish in the Americas.
Or it reminds them of the good old colonial days.
they also might only care about how spanish is spoken in spain
is the implication supposed to be that Russia, the country, does not exist?
that would be the real implication i suppose, but I’m sure it was intended just as disrespect
