It’s deeply jokerifying when I remember how 10 years ago “WW2 enthusiasts” who were suspiciously enthusiastic about the Wehrmacht (which they insisted was not not political, they just like history) would always point to the SS as the designated evil warcriminals while insisting that regular German troops were innocent conscripts. Nazi narratives of WW2 have become so normalized so fast that we are now in the clean SS stage of revisionism. Which is something that 10 years ago we would joke about. What a shitty timeline to live in.
