  • I mostly use edibles, since I prefer those over smoking. Use 'em enough and your tolerance can get sky high. Combine that with poor self-regulation (common in us folks with ADHD, IIRC), and a traumatized past you want to hide from, and overuse became considerably easier for me.

Regular usage at high doses can result in withdrawal effects, since at that point your brain is used to the heightened dopamine levels. Without the constant party of THC in my system I get unbelievably angry and irritable, mostly towards myself, and threats of suicide become more frequent. Makes me wanna pop another brownie to make the self-hatred stop, cause these withdrawal effects can last a while for me.

I’m doing better with it lately, but I’m having to do frequent vibe checks on myself, and I’m working on an extended break right now. I dunno how universal an experience mine is, but boy howdy, I gotta be more careful.

  • There’s a sign in the windows of one of these buildings asking people to stop asking about lottery tickers, as they didn’t sell the lottery there. I dunno what Nipton was like before it was largely abandoned so that could be incidental, but I can’t help but imagine the locals got annoyed by Fallout fans lol

Honestly, standing in the ghost town of Nipton with one of my besties, just the two of us and fucking nothing else for untold miles and miles, it was a weirdly sobering experience. This was once a place, with people, who formed many memories here - and now it’s basically completely abandoned. Just felt kinda bad for the place, really.

  • Lessee…

90s tracker MODs are a frequent go to for me (I’ve yet to find a bad song by Necros, there’s a good reason he was hired to compose for UT99)

I’ve always got Elephant 6 records on my rotation. In the Aeroplane is objectively Neutral Milk Hotel’s best works, but I feel On Avery Island is still worth seeking out! The final track is fascinating to me from an audio engineering perspective (not so much from a “this is enjoyable music” perspective xD)

Been obsessed with Shpongle too! Haven’t found a bad album yet.

I’ve also been listening through Steve Brenner’s works. His album Signals popped up on my YouTube feed, and on a whim I bought his discography on Bandcamp. Dude even sent a personalized email as thanks, and we had a nice chat about music production for a bit.
