I’m disappointed honestly. I still think that Lemmy would be well served by some community flag other than NSFW that makes certain communities a little more hidden. I also do think it was a bit of a knee jerk reaction, but its hard to criticize when they can say “its Canada law”.
I also disagree with Canada law on this, but Canadians seem pretty happy to elect people who tell them what to think, so IDK.
Five guys is great… used to be my go-to, but they’ve more than doubled the prices. Now I can easily spend $20 on a burger, fries and soda for one person. It’s as expensive as a trendy downtown cocktails and grill type place now.
The problem is most likely that Ask Burggit was not discovered by sh.itjust.works at that time. Someone has to search for it on sh.itjust.works, and then wait a while. People say you have to search the full URL instead the the !community@burggit.moe style search, for sh.itjust.works specifically for some reason.
For whatever reason, instances which are federated to each other to not send lists of communities. Someone has to manually search for each foreign community individually before it is discovered by the instance, and then there is a process of (identifying? copying? archiving?) all the posts in that community which can take 30+ minutes before it’s visible. That’s all my second-hand understanding of the process anyway.

I getcha. I was never a T_D guy, but the time when T_D was banned was a pretty clear line crossed in terms of Reddit admins deciding they would determine the site’s direction rather than the community. It was eminently obvious that the excuse they gave was BS as well.
