    it’s supposed to be 100mb/s but in reality it’s about 0.5mb/s, I’ve seen it drop as low as 5kb/s (my landlord is a cheapscate and won’t replace the busted wifi extender in my uni dorm block)

      Crappy internet is even worse than no internet. If it’s not working at least you know what’s up and can give up trying for the time being. If it works barely, sometimes, you are always trying, constantly pissed it’s not really working, while not really doing anything worthwhile offline instead.
