How do you think it came to be that most Americans believe that in China you can have your home seized for being impolite?
A deluge of articles that confirms the audience’s unexamined orientalism, and makes them feel superior.
It’s impressive that people have bought into this idea, myself included, until I watched the Polymatter video explaining what it is.
It’s hard not to come off as a Chinese sympathiser when correcting the misconception, so I’ll say this:
Fuck China - there are many things wrong with it, but the social credit system isn’t one of them.
