Missouri is banning the sale of drinks, candy and other foods made with hemp-derived intoxicating substances, Republican Gov. Mike Parson announced in an an executive order issued Thursday.

The ban kicks in Sept. 1.

Parson cited health concerns and lack of research on Delta-8 THC and similar unregulated CBD substances.

He also made clear that his order does not prohibit consumption of psychoactive hemp products. The rules “are not here to punish consumers,” Parson said.

Which is weird, because keeping your workers drugged up is cheaper than actually treating them well. See: opium in China, and meth in North Korea.

Which is why the US legalized productivity drugs like caffeine and nicotine, but not something that might slow down workers.

I e never understood the mentality that stoners are slow workers. You’d rather I be miserable, feel like crap, and try to do my job like that? I get way more done when I’m in a good mood

That’s the point. Miserable people don’t have the energy to better themselves and do things such as take part time college to get a better job.

Ah ah ah - see, you did it again. Ascribing reason or logic to the GQP.

Now go back out and try it again.

It is perfectly rational to ascribe reason and sanity to the GQP. As long as the amount ascribed to them is never more than zero.
