the term “cake day” just makes me think of r*ddit. I’ve seen Lemon Day going around, but we probably want to avoid affiliation with lemon party.

not that we can tell anybody what to do anyway, and each instance could even have its own. anyway, it needs to be something that obviously means “anniversary” and doesn’t require explanation otherwise it’ll just be annoying

    How is “parroting the same phrases” different from posting memes? Or do you also disapprove memes? Because they both add to the sense of community and belonging that many people come here for. II also hate the grind in my local village’s community, but do appreciate that it is what binds the community and makes it strong and that it is something to be cherished.

      I do also dislike memes. The strongest communities are based around discussion and more natural interactions. Memes are a shallow way to form a community

        Shallow, sure, but also very easy, effective and accessible. Not everything has to be super deep and meaningful all the time every time
