I hope we never find out if you’re right. The US has a cutting-edge, experienced military and would have many allies if it fought China, but China has massive industrial capacity and 4x the population. Also, China would be fighting right off it’s coast.

If you really wanted to take over Taiwan, you could just naval blockade the island: it’s substantially smaller than Cuba and has a larger population to feed.

A war with Taiwan means a war with the United States, and that’s a war China knows it can’t win.
