minus-squarekratoz29linkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2arrow-down1·10 months agoIt has been ages since I played something on PC (I don’t have a gaming one) but that is crazy to me lol. Is it not possible to just put the .exe files into the desktop (not shortcuts).
minus-squareShadow@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up7·10 months agoThe exe is typically a tiny part of the actual game files, so no.
minus-squarekratoz29linkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·10 months agoPerhaps the entire folder of the game on your desktop? I do remember to have done something like that before lol.
minus-squareThe Picard Maneuver@startrek.websiteOPlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·10 months agoI know you used to be able to do that, but I don’t think it works anymore.
minus-squareKecessa@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·10 months agoDepends, DRM free games yes…
minus-squarewreckedcarzz@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·10 months agoI hear there’s a website for that… amazing how you can get anything drm-free if you know how to sail.
minus-squarebleistift2@feddit.delinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·10 months agoI tried that with Tropico 5. The .exe launches the Kalypso launcher. When you press play, it launches the steam launcher, which then launches the Kalypso launcher again. When you then press play, you get to play the game. (This is from memory. Details may vary.)
