I hate this time of year. Everyone is in a mud rush to get stuff done for no reason. Weeks of build up for “time off over Christmas” and its usually only a few days and then its back to the grind anyway.
Trying to get any sort of work done for standard ongoing projects just grinds to a halt as these urgent-urgent-must-be-done-BY-christmas type stuff starts forcing their way to the top of the queue. All so the person who’s meant to be making the decision can go to Fraser for a few days calmer because they actioned something. Gruff gruff.
Can imagine how frustrating that is. Just trying to do your job, but no, such-and-such says otherwise.
Hopefully you will be able to enjoy some time off soon to get away from it.
Had to call BCC today. Their on-hold music was actually kinda a banger.

I was put on hold (shockingly briefly) twice. Both times I got the exact same track.

No, sorry. It wasn’t like, any popular music, or anything classical. Seemed pretty clearly designed to be background/on-hold music. Not something I would ever want to listen to in concert, but surprisingly fun in context, in a way that some excellent Debussy just wouldn’t be.
Haha fair enough, I’m guessing some rights inclusive or production music then!
