to be fair to the republic, they didn’t make all thos clones so they could torture them. they made all the clones so they could have slaves, the torture was incidental
its my understanding that the war droids have a number of servers broadcasting to each unit, so the ‘mind’ of a droid is never destroyed. all the war droids have big antennas and stuff, if they ever lose connection they just stop working

After that the CIS “fixed” the problem by also giving the droids a rudimentary local intelligence. Can’t remember if they still take orders from a central source in optimal conditions, but yeah…

I observe star wars and its fans like Diane Fossy or Jane Goodall with Gorillas except they double as the poachers that will kill me. But yeah, the Clone Wars politically is basically is Joe Biden and Donald Trump genuinely started an all out civil war
