Okay, reading the adl article, so 67 attacks in 5 years. Not a small number. I don’t agree with the notion of pre-crime or collective punishment, but let’s at least entertain the idea.
Lets see what they count as an attack.
Oh look, literally the first one:
Edward Kelley of Maryville, Tennessee, and Austin Carter of Knoxville, Tennessee, were arrested in mid-December 2022 by FBI agents on conspiracy charges for an alleged plot to kill 37 law enforcement officers, including FBI agents who were investigating Kelley for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol storming in Washington, D.C. The pair also allegedly plotted to attack the local FBI office in Knoxville.
They didn’t do anything, literally just alleged crime-think. That’s not an attack, not technically or in spirit. It should not be counted. Keep an eye on them if the cops truly think it’s an issue, but they haven’t actually done anything.
This shit is what I’m talking about when I say the news shouldn’t be trusted.
I also love the fact that their “Policy Recommendations” includes blatant first amendment violations. I don’t think they could have made it more obvious if they tried.
I don’t agree with the notion of pre-crime or collective punishment
Keeping an eye out for potential criminals isn’t either of those things.

It wasn’t just a thought. It was a criminal planning to do another crime. He was planning on killing the people investigating him. I have no sympathy for criminals who plan on doing more crime, making credible threats and plans to kill people. He can get fucked for all I care.
If you think that solicitation to commit a violent crime and threatening an officer of the law isn’t criminal, then you should take it up with the legislature.
Not all terrorism is physical. Not all violence is physical. So your statements saying he didn’t do anything are just plain wrong. He was already a criminal when he was making these plans, so his threats and plans were credible. So the government took action, as they should.
Even at best, all you’re arguing is that they are mischaracterizing the nature of what’s going on. But regardless of how you categorize it, domestic right wing terrorism is the biggest terrorism threat to the U.S.
The government trying to keep an eye on it is for the better.
They did a little more than think. Conspiracy requires an action even a small action. I am not a fan of conspiracy charges because it is human nature to vent and many actions could be considered an action towards the crime. Luckily I don’t write the laws because it would be tough to write it correctly to get the people that are conspiring vs someone who ran their mouth when angry.
Winter’s whole rhetorical strategy in this community is minimization. No matter what Republicans or conservatives do, it’s never as bad as it’s made out to be, even if someone makes plans to kill 37 LEOs. It’s just venting after all…
Without more information, it’s hard to know if they were a threat or over zealous prosecution.
Finally something that isn’t just deflection or an attempt to put words in someone’s mouth.
Let’s see, he:
is a criminal (assaulting officers and destruction of government property during Jan 6th)
plotted to kill 37 FBI agents (including some that were investigating his criminal actions from Jan 6
is now charged with conspiracy, retaliating against a federal official, interstate communication of a threat and solicitation to commit a crime of violence
he “obtained a list of law enforcement personnel who participated in that criminal investigation and the two discussed plans to kill individuals on the list in conversations with a cooperating witness. Those plans included an attack on the FBI’s Knoxville Field Office.” “A witness, who was described as a coworker and a very good friend to Carter, met with Kelley and Carter in early December when Kelley discussed assassination missions that would target federal agents.” “On Dec. 13, Carter gave the witness an envelope from Kelley that contained 37 names and some phone numbers of the law enforcement personnel who participated in his criminal investigation, as well as a thumb drive of video footage from a warrant search of Kelley’s home in May.”
is quoted as having said “With us being such a small group we will mainly conduct recon missions and assassination missions.”

‘Hey let’s go kill some federal agents’ isn’t venting.

Seems reasonable to me to consider him to be a threat.
How did the jury decide?
Right back to deflection again. Damn, I was hopeful for once.
You can’t answer a question can you ? I already covered this and you reply back with more garbage.
Did he kill any federal agents?
It isn’t venting. Quit trying to deflect.
You have no idea what he was doing. You don’t even understand what a conspiracy charge is. Did he kill a federal agent or not?
Are you going to address my statement about venting, or are you just going to continue to deflect?
Can you stop trying to deflect and answer the question. I addressed your statement clearly.
How childish.
