The wiiU is a very great console to hack, it can run all older Nintendo consoles including GC, wii and ds. Aren’t there any user here wanting to discuss that?

Be the change you want to see in the world.

I didn’t know the WiiU could emulate older systems. How do you load roms? How is the controller feel compared to the original?

Many systems you can emulate using the Nintendo Virtual Console emulators. There are tools to inject a rom into (pirated) eShop virtual Console games, replacing their rom. You then install the patched game folder using the homebrew software WUP installer. Of course, there are databases out there with many pre-injected Roms including artwork etc. One just has to find them. The installed games are stored in the wiiU internal storage, or a up to 2tb big HD (the USB ports don’t have many amps, so use a 12v powerd disk or maybe Y-cable)

Some systems/games work better using hombrew emulators, for those you store the roms in the SD card.

For GameCube, there is nintedont, which uses the wii inside the wii U to run the roms. I think it was like you have to have Nintendont installed and install forwarder icons using WUP installer, but have to undust my wii U to know again.

1st step, post an image of the system, a stock photo will do, and then link the most straight forward guide on how to get to homebrew.

It would have to be very compelling for me to seek out any console, but if, I knew exactly what to look for in hardware, I see an easy path to jailbreak, and happened to come across one for peanuts at a thrift store, then hell yeah! I typically get into the hardware more than the gaming side, to learn and mess around. I’ve made schematics and project documentation when something is interesting and a fun challenge.
