        Did they?

Was it fairly articulated or was it the usual grunting and screeching?

Word for word (from what I can remember).

We didn’t go far enough on January 6th, next time we will end democracy.

Yes. They said it out loud multiple times and over the past few years they have started saying lots of quiet parts outloud. We have a decent chunk of this country who are supportive of and helping to install a dictator.

Wasn’t that meant ironically, though? I saw the clip that quote comes from and it really didn’t look like the guy was saying it with a straight face.

Have you ever known one of those people that “jokes” to say what they mean? Or does the “Haha, I’m just joking, haha… unless…?” thing.

It’s cliche af at this point, but still true: When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

When someone tells you who they are, believe them.

When you show you’re trying to do a thing, repeatedly, year after year, and then say it out loud in front of all your supporters… Tone does not matter in the slightest.

If a gang of convicted rapists who have served multiple sentences said they would rape the moment they’re let out of prison, would you be saying “obviously they’re not serious” in response?

              I think not.

I’m pretty sure none of them were convicted for overthrowing governments (yet). So your example is hyperbole.

I do not want to see any of them get any sort of power, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to let myself get riled up over what some dude merely said.

Considering how riled up everyone seems to getting over what was said, I inclined to believe it was said specifically to get a rise out of their opposition.

In other words; you’re being trolled, and they’re having a laugh.

their actions on Jan 6th, the Nazi marches with literal 3rd Reich chants and the political refusal to denounce them. refusing women health care causing an increase in mortality rates.

you can’t participate in fascism and say /s just kidding bro.

In other words; you’re being trolled, and they’re having a laugh.

they aren’t trolling, they’re laughing that they’re getting away with it and the system refuses to do anything about it. the cruelty and the power to enact that cruelty onto others is the joke to them.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Voters headed to the polls in Russia on Friday for a three-day presidential election that is all but certain to extend President Vladimir Putin’s rule by six more years after he stifled dissent.

The election takes place against the backdrop of a ruthless crackdown that has crippled independent media and prominent rights groups and given Putin full control of the political system.

Voters will cast their ballots Friday through Sunday at polling stations across the vast country’s 11 time zones, as well as in illegally annexed regions of Ukraine.

Russia’s scattered opposition has urged those unhappy with Putin or the war to show up at the polls at noon on Sunday, the final day of voting, in protest.

Instead of promoting the vote to ensure a desired turnout, authorities appear to be betting on pressuring voters they can control — for instance, Russians who work in state-run companies or institutions — to show up at the polls, the group said.

The watchdog itself has also been swept up in the crackdown: Its co-chair, Grigory Melkonyants, is in jail awaiting trial on charges widely seen as an attempt to pressure the group ahead of the election.

The original article contains 804 words, the summary contains 195 words. Saved 76%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
