I’ve installed arch Linux and liked it, but lfs and Gentoo would be too time consuming compiling everything and not doing anything during and after install. Are there any distros like arch that don’t have me compiling everything?

NixOS has features that (almost?) no other distro has. This catapults Nix to the top tier of Linux distros, but it has a steep learning curve, even for Linux veterans. You have to learn a new way of configuring your system(s), a new scripting language, new tools, and how pkg mgmt works. All very different, but seemingly much better than it’s being done traditionally. NixOS also doesnt’ follow the FHS. GNU Guix is similar but I think NixOS is more interesting and capable. It’s also trending now
