Who says they aren’t already … it takes a bit of time for the hatchlings to mature inside their hosts.
It would be a great place to spread infection across the galaxy. You’d have contestants coming in from everywhere and then spreading the parasites back to their home worlds.
Lets hope that’s definitely a TOS Gorn, otherwise all the contestants (and audience) will be hatchlings before long.
