Of all the people to make such a sick comment to, and try to be slick about it, he said that shit to Mehdi Hasan. The sharpest journalist and interviewer of our time.
Never should have had that Nazi fuck on in the first place.
Later, Girdusky retaliated in a post on X, saying: “You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and have taken money from Qatar-funded media. Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke. I’m glad America gets to see what CNN stands for.”
Ah yes, once again, when they get caught out being shitbags, “iT wAs JuSt A jOkE!!!”
Harris was right, these are very unserious people. They seem to spend their entire lives making “jokes”.
So was Hillary. These people are deplorable.
They have become so obsessed with triggering people for reactions they eventually forgot what a joke actually is.
Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke
Then what’s the punchline, asshole? Jokes have punchlines. So what was it?
The punchline is that in the end white people are largely fine with terror attacks on brown people.
And that punch is killing hundreds every day with your taxpayer money.
If we form a line to punch him in the face, would that qualify?
“You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi”
It’s not false.
Also, who is he referring to?
Nobody. He’s just playing victim.
By ‘conservative commentator’ they mean former writer for Richard Spencer, well known um… yeah, fucking Nazi.
Another thing to note about him: Girdusky is also listed as one of the board of advisors of American Moment which is a group that’s listed by the Heritage Foundation as a Project 2025 partner
Wonderful.
It wasn’t just racist, it was a threat.
He said to Hasan that he hoped his pager didn’t go off.
Avoiding the obvious issue here that this is a terrorist threat based on a terrorist attack by an US backed terrorist state that got endorsed and cherished for its “sophisticated” terror attack instead of condemning the terror attack as being a despicable act of terror.
We’ve reached a point where, whenever I see someone called a racist, I assume it’s a false accusation - and after reading the article, my suspicion is usually confirmed. The term has been so overused that it’s lost much of its meaning. What he said was needlessly personal and inflammatory, but I don’t see the racism that so many others here seem to.
Would he have mentioned a beeper if the recipient was a white Christian? It hasn’t lost any of it’s meaning it’s just that some people are incapable or unwilling to recognize it unless it’s backed by a nazi symbol, white hoods, or overt calls for racial violence. Your inability to recognize reality does not mean reality ceases to the exist.
Would he have mentioned a beeper if the recipient was a white Christian?
Ofcourse not, but I don’t see how that implies racism.
Ofcourse not, but I don’t see how that implies racism.
Ah, so if I go around saying that Japanese people ‘smell of raw fish BECAUSE they are Japanese AND eat dirty raw fish’, I am not being racist, even though I wouldn’t say that to a white person.
How ‘contrarian’ of you, as in ‘contrary to not being ridiculous’.
I don’t see how your comparison is in any way equivalent to what he said.
“needlessly personal” hmm. I wonder what he was referring to that made it so personal. Hmmmmmmmmm. Was it perhaps his race?
Is it not exactly the other way around? I see so many actual racists that they don’t even feel ashamed anymore. Of course, I call much more people racist because there are way more openly racist people! Stop being racist and then you don’t get called a racist by the public.
I see so many actual racists that they don’t even feel ashamed anymore.
The fact there are still people trying to push the 2015 “not all Republican voters are racist” angle is sad. Can we just accept that reality has hit, and that we all know, and just drop the pretence?
We’ve reached a point where, whenever I see someone called a racist, I assume it’s a false accusation
How brave! You support not being able to question the motives of those in power to be aggressive to those who have less!
He may very well be motivated by racism. I don’t know him so I don’t have an opinion on the matter. My comment is about this specific thing he said where I don’t detect any obvious signs of racism.
Sounds like NewsMax just got a new talking head.
Conservatives are literal monsters
Good for CNN.

On Monday’s prime time show, after Muslim journalist Mehdi Hasan stated that he supports Palestinians, conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky responded, “I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.”
The remark is offensive, but how is it racist? The implication was that Hasan’s ideology is similar to that of Hezbollah, which isn’t a race.
the implication is that all arabs are terrorists, which is 100% racist
Worse still, Hasan isn’t Arab at all. He was born in the UK to Indian parents.
Yeah, I was born in the US to Indian parents, and I was still 100% an Arab terrist in the south.
I think that’s quite a stretch. Girdusky’s comment is clearly a response specifically to Hasan’s expression of support for Palestinians. What’s the connection between “all supporters of Palestinians are terrorists” and being an Arab?
And the pagers targeted Hezbollah, not Palestinians. Ergo, racist.
Some people can’t hear the dog whistles until they become bullhorns.
I think that’s quite a stretch.
I assure you, it is not.
LOL ok… i guess congrats for being one of the like 10 people who think that guy’s not actually racist
