Exactly my point: when a woman buys a vibrator it seems like she just wants some fun. BUT when a man buys the 240 Volt FUCKMASTER Pro 5000 inflatable doll with non-explosive rubber coating, 6x adjustable speed vibrating vagina, rubbery sperm-proof ass and realistic orgasmic scream with optional built-in 7.1 sound system, he becomes PERVERT… why?

Detroit: Tragedy at Binford Sex Tools show, when speaker Tim “Toolman” Taylor got stuck in one of the new XL Ejacu-Pumper models, whilst demonstrating features to the audience. Eyewitnesses say that while inserted into the machine, Taylor began to mimic riding a bucking bronco. During this animated outburst, Taylor lost his balance, falling backward, and accidentally pulling the refrigerator sized sex appliance down upon himself. In a scene that had played out countless times prior in his life, Taylor lost control of the unit, as it went into what a Binford representative called “overdrive mode.”

According to an attendee, who wished to remain anonymous “I heard a noise that day that will haunt me for the rest of my years. I was across the expo hall, and amidst a low rumble of screams came a piercing cacophony of confused cries of pleasure and pain. I don’t know quite how to explain it. It was like a wolf, gurgling, grunting and howling all at once. The noise went on for minutes, getting louder and more desperate sounding. When it stopped, I guess that’s when his pelvis was crushed.”

A public memorial service will be held at Ford field this coming Sunday, prior to the Lions game, with a private burial ceremony to be held later in the week.

There are literal adverts on TV showing various sex toys for women to use; I am yet to see one catered towards their male viewership.

(Not that I would want or need to see one lol)

Isn’t that the point? It’s not an unfairness thing, it’s just a lack of demand. For most guys their hand and some videos are enough. By the time you’re done you feel dirty just cleaning your browser history, forget an actual used device… lol

            you feel dirty

One might argue that this is the issue. Men watching porn feel dirty/wrong. Women masturbating and consuming their porn of choice is normalized.

Male sex toys exist, they are just not advertised. (Aside from hole shaped after specific, often fictional, women. Again, the focus is on the woman, not male pleasure.)

It’s just not as easy, for the female anatomy to get there with hand alone, really. So there’s not much option but to choose help from an external source. Do you really think people think it’s ok for women but not men to buy sex toys?

There is, but I think its portrayal in media is just a portrayal of reality. Most guys who will talk about it would never bother with a fleshlight, the cleaning alone post nut just makes it a terrible idea… it’s just different anatomy, and for most guys a hand is enough and they don’t really need more, the porn does the rest.

Terrible article, the author stokes a completely basesless moral panic.

Porn has been the go-to scapegoat for every societal ill since time immemorial, and this is just the latest iteration of the constant fretting about it.

And the article he quotes is even more ridiculous. Now fantasy girlfriends are an existential threat to women? If a man wrote about how he has to compete with romance novels and sex toys he would be derided as a fragile loser.

I am bored with this type of discourse.

They are suggesting the opposite, that women are using this technology more than men. Like the title says: the majority of actual users of these sexbots seem to be female

I mean, porn and imagined girlfriends are a problem. A bit like alcohol, sweets, and in general addictive things.

They, eh, allow one to alleviate loneliness and sadness, but not really.

Now fantasy girlfriends are an existential threat to women? If a man wrote about how he has to compete with romance novels and sex toys he would be derided as a fragile loser.

They are a threat to women in that they supposedly make men a bit more likely to become fragile losers. In perception at least, I think in reality such men would become alcoholics or something else instead, or would just develop their imagination.

That’s just Puritanical hogwash though, the same crowd of voices come out with the same baseless assumptions and stretched one-sided logic about everything.

When video games came out the puritans all said violent video games would ruin the world but violence has continued to decrease YOY, studies show that they can actually help people regulate their temper and foster better emotional intelligence. Learning to handle stressful situations is something modern culture took out of our lives and video games created a safe way to replace, our brains need practice at identifying anger and frustration and channeling then correctly.

AI sex partners are likely a very similar thing, by allowing safe exploration and somewhere to develop experience and confidence communicating it’s very likely helping a lot of people establish the skills needed to find and flourish in a healthy human relationship.

Really though they’re just a bit of silly fun which doesn’t hurt anyone, if someone can read Jane Austen and Julie Cooper without turning into a rabid fiend then they can have a cumbersome duty conversion with a LLM. Women aren’t going to become self-pleasure addicted recluses because of sex bots if they weren’t already that way due to the Sims and late night adult only discord chat rooms.

Of course people who spend their whole lives fighting themselves because of some twisted puritanical claptrap they’ve had rammed down their throats are likely to fly off the rails at any moment, if you don’t come to understand yourself and your biological impulses then you’ll never be able to control yourself - most people aren’t using AI sex bots to shamefully fill a void they dare not comprehend, they’re not experiencing a genuinely non-judgemental conversation for the first time, they’re not racked with sadness because their life of avoiding joy has left them cold and isolated.

The fact puritans are scared of literally everyone fun only speaks of the puritan mentality and says nothing of the value of video games, porn, AI sex robots, or any of the other things they rally against.

(And yes I have a deep sadness and recognise many do, messing around with fun distractions to that is just the human condition and the driving force of many great developments)

Ah, and playing video games 12 hours a day will harm you.

Sexuality is a very important part of human existence and an AI partner can provide not only safe exploration, because safety in sex is not only about avoiding tripper FFS.

I’ve tried being very attentive to your final paragraph but I can’t parse it, what is tripper? And and did you mean it can’t provide safety or that it can provide it plus something else (a tripper maybe?)

Not sure I agree about training or walking for 12 hours.

OK, my ability to communicate in my own language as well as others differs with mood.

I meant that an AI is as dangerous as a human is in those kinds of communication it does imitate. Thus it’s not safe exploration, it’s just exploration. And that it’s safe only in regards to some diseases, which was a joke or an irony if you will.

EDIT: Ah, tripper is a loanword for gonorrhea in Russian, I suppose it’s not from English, German likely.

If you walk 12 hours a day then you can’t work, socialise, eat, etc etc etc which are all the same problems as when doing anything else for 12 hours.

And of course there’s many more dangers than disease, which of them do you think exist when talking to a simulation? You’re not going to get scammed, taken advantage of, bullied, manipulated, raped, murdered, humiliated, impregnated, or any of the bad stuff that can happen due to normal flirting if you’re using a well regulated AI.

The solution to all the potential issues is communication and education, make sure people understand and can see that it’s just a toy rather than a real person and that it’s generating fiction rather than catching feelings.

Well regulated - yeah, maybe. Not sure how’s that regulation going to work, by what I know about AIs. And there are many things not normal which we may yet discover via such AIs.

                  useless offtopic about “manipulative”

Just recently got blocked by one girl (she actually waited for an RL meeting for that) saying I was manipulative (I meant that what I can understand of her mind is beautiful, but I’m sad that it’s rare, while she got it as her mind being beautiful only when it interacts with mine). In fact I used an ambiguous choice of words for a compliment and didn’t edit it, cause she answered something positive I didn’t want to spoil after (about a picture with apple trees blooming), I didn’t think she’d change her mind on that phrase. I also didn’t expect this much harm, cause I myself, when afraid of something bad from other person, usually spend a lot of time and effort and humiliation to confirm it. Felt like dying yesterday and the day before, and it’s more like “tired of dry wailing” today.

Guess the point is that for people like her AIs are good, but unnecessary, and for people like me they can be harmful even if behave conventionally fine.

It’s worth making a distinction between something inherently damaging like alcohol, and something that most people can engage with in moderation and face no issues, like sugar or porn.

Yeah but not to the point of making a scandal about it. Porn faces more alarmism than it justifies, getting accused of being the downfall of society on a regular basis. There are merits in pointing out some people can have problems with it, but most can manage themselves just fine.

Even when it comes to sugar, the “obviousness” of the matter for many becomes a matter of judging people for their looks, or a moral outrage against gluttony and laziness, rather than any real concerns about people’s health and well-being. Say, you don’t really see people being judged for their lack of sleep in the way they are judged for being fat, even though that is also pretty unhealthy.

It’s not about looks, it’s exactly about health.

You do see people being judged for the behavior resulting from lack of sleep, wrong food, some addictive habits and so on.

For it to be about health the person needs to care to begin with, and many people eager to humilliate people for their weight don’t have a single drop of care for them. Much on the contrary, really.

I used to think there was a foundation of concern underneath that, but I have been on the internet enough to witness what a visceral disgust and hatred some people have about fat people.

People definitely don’t talk the same way about lack of sleep that they do towards weight. Often lack of sleep is even seen as a noble sacrifice. Even when they realize people aren’t sleeping out of self-neglect they are still more likely to be concerned than revolted over it.

I’ve specifically said “behavior resulting from …”, not lack of sleep itself.

About visceral disgust and hatred - well, I’ve met one girl with weight problems recently. She’s one of the most charming people I’ve met, and attractive too. Before meeting her I (in imagination and first impressions) almost shared that, because I’ve known some unpleasant people with excess weight at school and in my childhood.

Point being, many other traits are met with hatred by some people with pseudonymity. Cowards are like that.
