Ok DT, I have decided to take the new job offer! Short term, I lose a bit of cash (it was bound to happen because I make a LOT of penalties), but long term I make myself infinitely more employable and can start to think about settling down.

The absolutely massive win is I will now after a stupid number of years return to normal 9-5pm life! I am ridiculously excited, I miss my friends and family, and just having a normal weekend.

Once upon a time we had a public holiday called Show Day. The reason behind it was so that people from rural areas and working class families could enjoy a day out to the Royal Melbourne Show and inject a bit of cash into the economy. Not everybody went but it was still a good day off to spend with your family.

Then our Premier at the time Jeff Kuntett decided we had too many public holidays and scrapped it. A few years ago Dan reinstated it and rebranded it as Grand Final Parade Day where the 2 teams who will be competing on Saturday in the grand final can slowly hoon down the street to adoring waving fans.

So you might think why a day off (No one’s complaining) before a football game? Well my little essay explains why.

Weren’t they both? And a lot of rural shows as well. Remember going to the Show and seeing them there. I fully agree with @taleya that they haunt nightmares. Apparently one of them was a serious pedo but I can’t remember which. Both drank and you could smell the grog a mile away. The things that parents think kids like is one weird list.

They were the faces of Moomba until it was discovered one was a convicted pedo.

I remember seeing them walking around ruffling kids hair and thinking no no no. I did not like them.

I’ve never really liked clowns. Creepy, even the innocent ones. But Z & Z were more than just creepy. The Commedia dell’Arte has a lot to answer for.

My obligatory “as someone who grew up in the country” bit: =)

I’ll add to this that Show Day was only for Melbourne, it wasn’t a statewide holiday. At least with the GF day, everyone gets it.

Whoo! I hope this helps you now! It’s a good feeling when you finally get that diagnosis, but it’s a double edged sword because you’re like “oh I needed this diagnosis way earlier in my life”.

Well the neighbours’ cat came inside and butters chased it back out.

They were staring at each other for a few mins then the other cat decided to get a bit closer. Butters gave it a little bop on the head and then they just sat there together looking at birds.

Looks like they’ve sorted out their differences.

I was expecting a little cat brawl.

My neighbor has a ginger cat that comes around that wife’s cat HATES with a passion. One day shes gonna smash the window to get to the ginger who honestly just looks like a sweet boy who wants a cuddle. I’d give him one, but certain the wife’s cat will slit my throat in my sleep if she catches me.

I’m going to meet a friends’ cats for the first time this afternoon, I’m looking after them this weekend while she goes interstate, and I know from previous conversations that they’re obsessed with tea tree oil… so I’ve spritzed myself with tea tree oil. THEY WILL LOVE ME.

Funny, I would’ve thought it was such a strong smell it’d put them off. Weird what some animals like. A friend has a cat that loves tea bags.

Their owner told me she cleans her shoes with tea tree oil and they go nuts over her shoes afterwards so I sprayed a tea tree oil and water solution on my legs and shoes and yep… they loved it. One was licking my leg.

One of my cats LOVES my mums feet. Trips her over to get to them and smooches, rolls and other exhaulted behaviour. It got the better of me and I asked mum why. It’s vinegar. She soaks her feet in vinegar every day and Oreo loves it. Cats are strange creatures.

So spent the morning tidying up and cleaning, the afternoon seeing the real estate agents and chasing things up…
Long story short, the house is on the market and it feels like a huge burden has rolled off my shoulders.
Now to get it cleaned out and sold!

I feel like shit lately. Physically and mentally. Easily getting very cranky, absolutely bored with everything. Constantly stressed.

I’m just putting one foot in front of the other. Caring for my cat and plants, doing the bare minimum essential tasks and trying to avoid anything that makes it worse.

Jeez its raining cars today! My new car is coming because I had to sell my old car (which I loved!) to finish the loan on the Mrs’s piece of shit car because it was looking like we’d have to write it off. Turns out no! Because not 3 hours after I get told my new car is ready I get a call saying they fixed the mrs piece of shit car! So now I get to sell that for not a loss! It does mean my house is gonna look like car city for a couple of weeks, but in effect I just got told I got 10k back in my budget! Huge win!

I can’t stop laughing at this news article of a thief who stole a vac full of angry hornets. Writer absolutely channeled their inner pratchett.
