    That’s exactly the point. Why would Russia send nukes if it knows it’ll be destroyed in retribution?

      They know they can get a few off if they sacrafice a few Russian cities. Which Putin does not care about. He’ll watch them be vaporized if he thinks he can land a death blow on any major western powers.

            The poster said he would sacrifice a few cities to take down a western power. He could do that now.

                The criteria given by the other poster for Putin to use nukes is currently met. So using their logic, he should launch them now. I’m asking why he doesn’t.

                  No the criterion is a war between NATO and Russia. That criterion is not met.

                    I don’t see why war is necessary to achieve the states goal, but assuming it is…why is war necessary?

                  Necessary criteria isn’t the same as motivating criteria.

        Yep depends on how much fear and hatred Putin has for the west and how much he actually cares about his own people.
