I like to point out how reddit loathed SJWs. That was the prior right wing boogeyman known today as “woke”. They absolutely hated the people who were promoting socially progressive views.

At the peak it was like every single day the site was circle jerking about how much they hated that. People reminisce about really distorted views of reddit like it used to be this cool left leaning platform. Sure if you ignore literally everything about what it was.

ShitRedditSays was extremely hated, everyone on the site was having total meltdowns whenever they would “brigade” by posting a screenshot of some idiot saying something reactionary.

That’s how they’ve shoved the Overton Window so far right the average normie believes reddits brand of conservatism is any where remotely left.

“B-but a gay replied to me one reddit! That means it’s left leaning!” Makes my eyes roll out of my skull.

4chan ruined my mental health and Reddit just helped keep it ruined. Getting banned from Reddit was the best thing that ever happened to me. Then I got rid of Twitter, I was off Facebook the moment they got rid of their original UI after they opened the website to everyone. One day I will permanently log off to become one with the grass, but not today.

Generally I think it revolves around the normalization of really hateful thinking, both outside and within.

I never got too deep into it, and once /pol/ got overrun with literal Nazis I knew it was over, and it’s when I started distancing myself from it. Reddit was nominally better, and it took me from being this center right a-hole to at least a RadLib.

I always had an interest in Communism, but it was more “Tankie Aesthetic cool!” Than it was about “We must implement communism as it is the only way to save the world.”

Since no one ever was able to convince me that the USSR killed 6942002496 people a second, it and the awesomeness of Chapo Trap House eventually got me to where I am now: The only True Leftist.

TBH there is a bit of a gap in the fossil record or crockoduck or Non-sequitur there if you think about it.

There are 2 easily verifiable facts.

                A. Lenin and Stalin had some ideological beliefs we can loosely refer to with words like Marxism, Socialism, etc…

                B. Some people died in the USSR.

Now a normal person may presume something like correlation does not imply causation. And normal people remember in Math class where if you didn’t show your work, you get a zero.

But Liberals have this neat trick where they present this information as verified proven causation, BUT NEVER FUCKING DRAW A LINE FROM A → B. Everything that pretends to is a bunch of obvious baloney.

I feel like we need a formal term for this general concept.
